Quentin Norcutt – Intern

quentin.norcutt@clallamcd.org

Quentin was born on Ft. Lewis in September of 1996 and he grew up around Washington until high school when he moved to Colorado. After high school he joined the Army in 2014, attending Basic Training and Airborne school in Ft. Benning, Georgia. After Airborne school, he was stationed in Vicenza, Italy for two years. Quentin worked primarily in Eastern Europe during that time. In 2017 he was stationed in Ft. Carson, Colorado. Quentin was deployed to Afghanistan in 2018 with that unit and left the Army in October of 2019.

After the Army, Quentin worked for Children’s Hospital in Colorado while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. After COVID began, he quickly realized nursing wasn’t all that he wanted. Quentin decided to pursue a degree in Environmental Science and wanted a change of scenery, so he applied and was accepted to Chiang Mai University in northern Thailand. He spent the last 3 ½ years studying and living there.

Quentin is motivated to pursue conservation work because of his hobbies. He is an avid fisher and hunter so the stewardship and protection of these interests are very important to him. He came to Port Angeles in 2020 to visit family and quickly fell in love with the area. The abundance of hiking trails, ease of access to wilderness, great fishing in the Strait and local rivers all motivated him to try to get a job interning here at Clallam Conservation District.
