The last day to request a mailed out ballot is February 18, 2026, by 4:00 pm.

This years Supervisor election will be a mail-in only election. Ballots are due on election day, March 17, 2026 by 4 p.m. according to the 2026 Election Resolution 26-003 adopted at a regular board meeting January 13, 2026.

Each conservation district is governed by a board of three locally elected and two state-appointed volunteers, called supervisors. As dictated by state statute, at least two of the elected and one of the appointed supervisors must own land or operate a farm in the district. The term of office is three years, and supervisors serve without compensation. State statute also requires conservation district elections to be held in the first quarter of the calendar year.

Request a Ballot for the March 17, 2026 election

Key Dates for the 2026 Election:

  • December 10, 2025- February 9, 2026 Candidate filing period. Applications due by 4:00 p.m.

  • February 18, 2026 Last day to request a ballot to be mailed out by 4:00 p.m.

  • March 13, 2026 Friday 12-4 p.m. Election volunteer training (polling officer), ballot verification open to public viewing.

  • March 16, 2026 Monday, 12-4 p.m. Ballot verification, open to public viewing.

  • March 17, 2026 Tuesday, Election Day, Election closes at 4:00 p.m. ballot verification, open to public viewing.

  • March 18, 2026 Wednesday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (or until finished) ballot verification and tabulation, open to public viewing.

  • March 18, 2026 Wednesday, Unofficial results announced by 5:00 p.m.

  • March 19, 2026 Thursday, 10 a.m.-3p.m. (or until finished) ballot verification and tabulation, open to public viewing.

  • April 3, 2026 Friday, 12-2p.m. Postmarked ballots counted. Open for public viewing.

    Please plan ahead, as ballots will not be available on election day. Ballots must be requested ahead of time. Ballots Must Be Postmarked or dropped off at CCD drop-box by March 17 2026, by 4:00 p.m. Ballot box closes promptly at 4:00 p.m

    Ballot processing will be completed as needed as ballot return dictates.

We have a Mid Term Vacancy on our Board

Clallam Conservation District is accepting applications to fill a mid-term vacancy on our board of Supervisors. This is a vacancy to an elected position whose term expires May 2027. This is a great opportunity to help guide local conservation work and support programs that benefit natural resources.

Application period: January 23rd - February 20th 2026 by 4p.m.

Appointed Supervisor Position

Would you like to be considered for an appointed position on Clallam CD’s Board of Supervisors? The Washington State Conservation Commission appoints two of Clallam CD’s five board members. The next appointed position held by Supervisor Bennet Smith expires May 2027; the Commission will appoint a supervisor to serve on Clallam Conservation District’s board in 2027. The window for applications for the appointed seat is January 1, 2027 through March 31, 2027. Applications can be submitted during this time frame.

Conservation District Election Reform

Clallam Conservation District is committed to pursuing election reform with the Washington State Legislature and making future elections more accessible to all voters. If you would like this election on the regular fall ballot, please contact your legislator at 1-800-562-6000.

HB 1567 (2023-24) requested a financial study of costs to put all conservation districts on the regular ballot. The study, Conservation District Elections in Washington — Final Report June 2025 was completed in June 2025.

Required by state law, CCD elections occur annually during the first quarter of each year. Elections are conducted pursuant to guidelines established by Chapter 89.08 RCW, with oversight from the Washington State Conservation Commission. Conservation district elections are exempt from the election laws under Title 29A RCW. It will require a change to state law for conservation district elections to be on the regular fall vote by mail ballot. Conservation District elections are reviewed and certified by the Washington State Conservation Commission.
