Welcome to our Native Plant Store
We are now accepting orders for our 2025 Native Plant Sale!
PLANT INFORMATION:
Most of the plants offered in our sale are 1- to 2-year-old bare-root seedlings (no soil on the roots) that typically range in size from 8” to 24” other than a couple specialty species that are “plugs” that are grown in seedling trays. These plants tend to be smaller in stature, and may only be 3” or so tall at delivery.
Conifer trees are sold in bundles of 25, and most deciduous trees and shrubs are sold in bundles of 10, with the exception of specialty shrub species sold in bundles of 5.
To learn more about native plants and help you choose which plants are most suited to your site and goals, visit our Native Plants webpage and/or view our Past Webinars for information on natural landscaping, choosing native plants for birds and pollinators, preparing your site for planting, and protecting plants from animal damage, and much more.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL: Once an order is placed we are unable to make changes, so please review your order carefully before placing it. Unless prior arrangements are made, plants not picked up on your chosen pick-up date may be donated to restoration projects. Refunds are not available for plant orders that are not picked up.
Pacific Ninebark
Pacific Ninebark
Bundle of 10 plants
Description
Physocarpus capitatus is deciduous shrub, five to twenty feet tall with open, straggly, angled branches, and bark that exfoliates in long irregular strips. Leaves are alternate, simple, three to ten centimeters long, palmately three to five lobed and veined. Produces pompom-like flower cluster in the late spring. Grows best from hardwood cuttings, and is easy to propagate and can be live-staked. Can also be grown from seed but germination is spotty.
Habitat
Streambanks, swamps, moist woods, and occasionally on drier shrubby sites. Sun to shade, best in acid soil, requires some watering. Propagates easily from cuttings. Common along stream banks, lake margins, swampy areas and in moist woods.
Beneficial Uses
Has excellent soil-binding qualities as well as providing cover and nesting sites. Other species like deer and elk graze on the twigs and bears eat the berries.
