Farm Tour: Cover Cropping 101

WHEN: September 25 (Thursday) from 10:00 – 11:30AM

WHERE: Sequim (address will be emailed to registered participants)

Join Clallam Conservation District for a free tour of a local, organic vegetable farm located in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley that has successfully incorporated cover cropping into their farming operation. Scott Chichester, owner of Chi’s Farm, will speak on the numerous benefits he’s found with integration of cover crops on his farm, such as improving soil health, slowing erosion, managing nutrients, controlling weeds and pests, and enhancing water availability. He will also speak on selection of species for cover crops, timing of planting, methods he’s employed to prepare and plant seedbeds and much more.

Workshop participants that register by September 22, 2025 are eligible to receive free cover crop seed to be used on their farm.

Registration is required for this workshop due to space and seed quantity limitations.
