2025 Farm Tour Workshops

Horse Farm Tour

WHEN: September 15 (Monday) from 1:00 – 2:30 PM
WHERE: Blue Mountain Road in Port Angeles (address will be emailed to registered participants)

Join Conservation District planners for a tour of a horse farm located approximately four miles up Blue Mountain Road in Port Angeles. Nestled in the foothills of the Olympics, this tour will showcase how the farm owner uses mud-free paddocks to support a rotational grazing system. Attendees will also learn how native trees and shrubs—both existing and newly planted—can be integrated into farm areas for shade and visual appeal. The tour will also highlight future plans for a track paddock to help exercise horses while allowing pastures to regrow, as well as a rainwater catchment system for emergency use. Space is limited, and registration is required.

Multi-Species Farm Tour

WHEN: September 23 (Tuesday) from 10:00 – 11:30 AM
WHERE:
Agnew, mid-way between Port Angeles & Sequim (address will be emailed to registered participants)

Tour an intensive, pasture-based farm operation located in Agnew, midway between Port Angeles and Sequim, with the owners of Bentgate Farm and Clallam Conservation District staff. Bentgate Farm raises grass-fed beef, lamb, goats, pork, and several horses. The tour will cover a variety of topics including multi-species rotational grazing, irrigation and soil fertility practices, seasonal pasture management, pasture grass identification, and pasture re-seeding techniques. This is a great opportunity to see sustainable, multi-species farming in action.

Both workshops are free; however registration is required BELOW due to space limitations.
