Soil Testing to Boost the Production of Pastures of Hayfields

Take the guesswork out of fertilizing your pastures or hayfields by learning how to test your soil for nutrient deficiencies. Planners from Clallam Conservation District will go through the steps of collecting soil, the impact different nutrients and amendments make on forage growth, and timing and application methods for fertilizer and amendments to maximize pastures and hayland productivity.

Managing Pastures & Hayfields for Forage Production

Ready to improve the health and productivity of your pastures or hayfields? Join Conservation District planners for a tour through the pastures at Robin Hill Farm. Topics will include identifying common pasture grasses, utilizing seasonal management, rotational grazing, fertilizing, seeding, and other management techniques to maximize the grass production.

Weed Identification & Control on Farms

WHEN: May 22 (Wednesday) from 10:00am - 11:30am

Learn how to identify and control poisonous and noxious weeds commonly found on farms to help boost the productivity of your pastures and hayfields and protect your horses and livestock from poisonings. Feel free to bring fresh weeds from your farm for identification. Presenters include Clallam County Noxious Weeds Coordinator Christina St. John and Conservation District staff.
